Polaroid was collaboratively devised by Tales From The Goldfish Bowl a group consisting of Sarah Owen and 4 dancers: Joe Wild, Ylva Henrikson, Ellen Steinmuller and Laura Moy.
Polaroid recreates memories in sound and movement. Material comes from the personal memories of members of the group, but with a single, collective memory linking all of these together. Like remembering, Polaroid zooms into small detail whilst the larger narrative is sometimes out of focus. Similarly Polaroid creates a feeling of something, but without being able to grasp what, where or when exactly that feeling is.
Polaroid was performed at the New Choreography Showcase at the Laban Centre, July 06.
