"Abney Park: A Walk with Sound and Spectacle" was a site-specific theatre and sound piece, performed for an audience of all ages on September 1st 2006 at Abney Park Cemetery, London.
The piece took the form of a procession around this gorgeous inner-city nature reserve. The procession came with a continuous soundscape, speakers carried by the procession leaders, the 'Mutes'. Along the procession the audience encountered many strange magical characters and sights, all inspired by the park's architecture and history: bird people, walking statues, egyptian gods and godesses, gnarled gravediggers and plenty of eccentric victorians...
